Fishing Report 2025

Hit up a local lake here in South Dakota yesterday with a buddy. We were hoping for some bass but ended up just catching a few nice bluegills instead. The weather was decent, a bit overcast with a light breeze, which usually gets the fish biting. Used a couple of different jigs and some live worms — seems like those did the trick. Nothing huge, but they were fun to reel in. Didn’t really get skunked, but definitely missed a few strikes that felt like they could’ve been good ones. Always a good time on the water, even if we didn’t get the big one. Anyone else been out fishing lately? How’s it been biting in your neck of the woods?

Sounds like a great day, man. Bluegills might not be trophies but they sure keep the rods bending. I was out last weekend here and the bite was slow, but a couple smallmouths saved the trip
