What lakes are you hitting for Ice fishing this year?

I am getting the ice fishing gear ready and trying to figure out where to go in South Dakota. I've done Bitter Lake and Madison before with decent success but I'm looking to explore new spots, any suggestions??

My advice? Forget Bitter for a year and take a run at Poinsett. Now, let me tell ya, the last time I was out there, I was so focused on this massive pike I was marking that I drilled my holes way too close together. I spent the next hour fighting that darn fish and my own tip-ups, looking like a tangled-up spider monkey on the ice. I probably looked like a fool, but I landed the fish, and that's all that matters

Last year I hit Waubay and froze my coffee solid before sunrise, but the perch bite made it worth it. I am thinking about heading back there… just bringing a better thermos this time

I’ve heard good things about Poinsett too, I might have to give it a try soon

That’s dedication right there! Waubay sounds promising and yeah, a better thermos sounds like the real deal
