Modifications can be helpful, but keeping at least one firearm completely stock gives me a useful point of comparison. It helps me see what changes actually improve performance and what might just feel different. It also removes confusion when something goes wrong and I need to troubleshoot.

Yeah, having a baseline gun is like having a control sample, you instantly know what actually changed.
