USPSA matches are beginner-friendly if you're willing to learn. My first match was kind of awkward, but i met helpful people. They cared more about safety than how well I scored, which made me feel a lot better.
USPSA seemed scary until I actually showed up. The safety talk was way more important than any skill I had. Once I got that down, everyone was super helpful and patient.
