Naming guns seems weird to me honestly

I see people naming their rifles and it feels odd. It's a tool, not a pet. I don't name my tools or my truck. What's the point? Someone explain why you do this because apparently lots of people do. What makes you want to name your guns?

I don’t name my guns either. To me, they’re tools I trust because I use them often. I get why some people name theirs but my attachment comes from time and experience, not a nickname.
