Do you actually get good deals at gun shows?

I keep hearing mixed things...some people swear they find great deals at gun shows. Others say it's all overpriced and you're better off online. What's been your experience? Are January gun shows worth the entrance fee or am I better off staying home and browsing online?

In my experience, stay home. Everything is overpriced. Many of the vendors are there to socialize. It’s a lifestyle for them. And if they can hook some neophyte into overpaying for junk or for a new firearm that could be had much cheaper elsewhere, that’s just icing on the cake!

Shows can be fun for browsing and networking, but if you’re hunting deals, online usually beats traveling and entrance fees.
