I've been looking into shotguns for home defense and could use some input from those who know their stuff. I'm debating between a 12-gauge and a 20-gauge. I get that the 12-gauge packs a punch, but I'm worried about the recoil, especially in tight spaces. The 20-gauge seems easier to handle but maybe not as effective.
What should I consider for barrel length? I'm thinking shorter might be better for maneuverability. What about stock setups or any specific features that could make a difference? I'm also interested in brands or models that are known for reliability.
And on the training side, how important is it? I've shot a bit, but nothing too serious. What kind of practice should I focus on to feel prepared?
