Why do we keep having the 1911 vs striker-fired debate?

Why does this debate get so heated? I own both a 1911 and a striker-fired pistol and honestly they're just different tools. One's not objectively better than the other, yet people get legitimately angry about it...

It's simply personal, people defend what they know. The 1911 offers history and a crisp single action trigge...striker fired gives consistent pulls and more capacity. It is identity plus function, just pick what fits your hand and your mission

Some people like to think that whatever widget they own, theirs is “the best” and no one had better dare bursting their bubble by suggesting otherwise!

People latch onto what they grew up with. I tell folks to try both, pick what points naturally and fits your purpose cause comfort beats internet arguments every time.

Yeah that’s the truth! Folks get attached to their gear like it’s a family member. At the end of the day, whatever works best for you is what matters

Because there are still people out there who have yet to fire a nice DA/SA?
DA/SA can be an eye-opener. If you’ve never shot one, try it...the long first pull then shorter follow-ups take getting used to but can be really practical
